Competitor management
What are competitors in GEORate?
Competitors are companies or brands you want to track alongside your own brand in AI responses. GEORate automatically detects mentions of them during snapshots and includes them in the AI Competitive Positioning section.
How do you add a competitor?
- Go to Brand → Competitors
- Click Add competitor
- Enter the company/brand name
- Optionally add aliases — alternative names under which the competitor may be mentioned by AI
Competitor aliases
Aliases work exactly like aliases for your brand — GEORate matches mentions by the main name and every alias (normalization: lowercase, trim).
Example: Competitor Acme Corp + alias Acme → both names are merged into one set of statistics.
Aliases are included in the enriched payload sent to n8n with each snapshot. n8n uses them during LLM analysis — there is no need to update workflows manually.
Deactivation vs deletion

Discovering competitors through Entity Review
In Entity Review (/brands/[id]/entities), you can mark a detected entity as a competitor with one click. The entity receives the status assigned_competitor and becomes a suggestion to add in Competitors.
